The simplest solution for medium and great power plants. Compact and versatile because it utilises plug & play: the Sunway Station is tesed for transportation and installation directly on the plant. That way, one may avoid construction of civil works, with the consequential bureaucratic and licensing problems. The installation times are thus greatly reduced. It is a modular system, confi gurable from the accessory point of view: the cabinet may be furnished with an automatic power supply kit, ideal for some specific plant solutions, that makes it possible to enact auxiliary cabinet services directly from the medium voltage transformer.
The most powerful model, as well as the largest one available on the Italian market with only two inverters, measures 1330 kW(ac). Elettronica Santerno offers a complete solution: everything necessary for the connection of the photovoltaic panels to the public network in a single container. Moreover, the company supplies all the assistance and engineering support necessary for on-site confi guration.
Such an elevated concentration of power produced in a single constructive model requires particular attention in order to enhance the reliability of the plant: the treatment of the heat produced is assured by the air conditioning system which guarantees the correct temperature regime in any functioning condition, enhancing the system’s reliability, proven by the MTBF calculation carried out according to MIL HDBK 217.
With the air conditioning of the Sunway Stations, risks of power reduction caused by external overheating or clogging of the ventilation filters are eliminated, avoiding damaging plant standstill and guaranteeing continuity of operation.
The centralised inverters furthermore allow a great reduction of field wiring costs: the transfer of power into direct current up to 760V allows the utilisation of two sole conductors, with crosssections that are inferior to any other solution of low voltage alternating current. In this way, derivation control boards do not need to be installed in the fi elds. The AC/DC converter, heart of every inverter, is modular in the models of greater power, allowing easy installation and maintenance.
Indeed, ventilation alone is not suffi cient to guarantee the correct temperature within the cabinet, in that it is necessary that the internal temperature is higher than the external room temperature.
The air conditioner utilised by Elettronica Santerno includes the three necessary functions: Free Cooling, cooling, anti-condensation. Free cooling: if the external temperature allows, it makes an exchange of the cabinet’s external/internal air by means of a motorised air lock, without utilising the compressor, thus minimising the electrical power consumed. Cooling: if necessary, it removes the internal cabinet heat, acting as an actual air conditioner.
Anti-condensation: upon request integrated into the air conditioner are the resistances that allow internal cabinet heating if the temperature goes below the dew point.
